How to be a 20-Something « Thought Catalog

Take the time to be inspired by this fabulous piece of writing. It's a new favorite. How to be a 20-Something « Thought Catalog

The Best Answer to "What Would You Bring on a Deserted Island?"

So you know that question, "If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring one thing, what would it be?"  This is the most fantastic answer to the "deserted island" question ever, brought to you by my wonderful friend Laura.  Fair warning: It is probably only funny to law students:

For the desert island question i would have to know if escape was possible given my choice of item OR if i would inevitably be trapped there. if i knew i was going to be there til i died, i'd probably bring a knife... or some wasabi for all the fresh fish i'd plan on eating...

with the possibility of escape, and given that the island was under the jurisdiction of the U.S., i'd bring a huge saw solar powered saw. i'd make improvements all over the island, make my presence open and notorious (slice up some trees and write out "sos," build myself a nice hut, maybe cultivate some land if i could fashion other tools using the resources there and the saw) so that at least at the end of the whole thing, i would be tan and own a freaking island.

Ultimate. Answer. Win.
